Micronesia, Canada, Fiji, Maldives, Marshall Islands, Nauru, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Samoa, Seychelles, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Turkey, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu are all submitting a resolution to the Security Council of the United Nations this week - calling for Climate Change to become a Security Council issue.

This happens when there is an urgent threat to peace and security - and considering some of these nations are expected not to be on a map in 2100, this is one of those.

There’s an Avaaz petition, already signed by nearly 60,000 people, supporting the countries’ effort. You can too.
