I stayed up well beyond my bed-time on Tuesday evening to watch the Presidential debate.

Most of the time I spend shouting at the screen, but this question from Ingrid Jackson made me actually stand up and kiss the TV. This is why;

1. It was the right question. There was no arguing about whether climate change is real, the question implied it as a given.
2. Both candidates proceeded to argue who had been better on renewables.
3. Ingrid is a young, black woman - not your usual liberal, organic-eating, NY Times reading, white, middle class Yuppie usually associated with ‘caring about the environment’.
4. She stressed the potential for fast action - if we can do it on the economic crisis, why not the climate crisis?
